Beating Boston Traffic on the Way to Logan

Beating Boston Traffic on the Way to Logan – Boston Limo Car Service Logan Airport guide
Quick answer

When is traffic worst on the way to Logan Airport?

Weekday mornings from about 6:30 to 9:30 and evenings from about 3:30 to 7 are the busiest, especially on I-93, the Mass Pike and near the Sumner, Callahan and Ted Williams Tunnels. Friday afternoons before holidays and summer weekends to Cape Cod are also slow.

The tunnels

Most trips reach Logan through the Ted Williams Tunnel (from I-90 and I-93 South) or the Sumner Tunnel (from downtown). From the North Shore, Route 1A reaches the airport without a harbor tunnel.

How we plan around traffic

  • Chauffeurs check live traffic before leaving and choose the fastest route
  • We suggest earlier pickups on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons
  • Game days at Fenway and TD Garden are on our calendar

Our rule of thumb

From the inner suburbs allow 30 to 45 minutes; from the outer suburbs 45 to 75 minutes; add 20 to 30 minutes at peak times.
